<b>Nakirebe hosts coaches clinic</b> <br>BASEBALL - The first baseball and softball coaches’ and trainers’ clinic in Uganda gets underway this Friday at Nakirebe baseball complex in Mpigi. Over 60 foreign and local trainees have registered for the two-week course.

BASEBALL - The first baseball and softball coaches’ and trainers’ clinic in Uganda gets underway this Friday at Nakirebe baseball complex in Mpigi. Over 60 foreign and local trainees have registered for the two-week course. Trainees are coming from hosts Uganda, Tanzania Kenya, Rwanda, DR Congo, S. Sudan, Zambia and Burundi. Two trainers, Pat Doyle and Tom Gillespie, arrive Friday morning from the US to conduct the clinic.

Junior teams enter camp

VOLLEYBALL - Over 30 national junior U-20 volleyball men and women players have pitched camp at Nkumba University in Entebbe ahead of the African Junior championships later this year. According to the local volleyball federation president, Nasiwu Sadik, the camp is meant to fine tune the nation’s budding talent in preparation for the forthcoming continental engagements to be hosted in Nairobi.

Schools body lays strategies

BASKETBALL - The National Schools Basketball Association (NASBA) executive convenes today at YMCA Wandegeya to draw a road map for the 2010 schools basketball. According to association publicist Edmund Lumu, the major purpose of the meeting will be confirming the 2010 championship hosts and also drawing the year calendar.
