The Police are investigating the murder of a 16-year-old boy whose decomposing body was recovered near an internally people’s displaced (IDP) camp in Ngenge sub-county. The district criminal investigation department chief, Ali Kasisa, said the body of Leonard Musau was recovered after a tip-off following an eight-day search. Kasisa said the assailants, believed to be Karimojong cattle rustlers, kidnapped the boy, killed him and dumped the body near Kapkwot camp. He added that there were conflicting reports that the boy was murdered in connection with a land dispute involving his father and other villagers.

‘Document clan history’

The deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has asked clan leaders in Busoga to start documenting the history of their clans. Kadaga noted that this would assist preserve their history and culture for the benefit of the future generations and Busoga kingdom in general. She made the remarks while addressing members of the Baise Igaga clan, to which she belongs, during a recent meeting at Misita village in Bukooma sub-county. Kigulu North MP Edward Baliddawa Kafufu offered to create a register and data base for the clan to assist members know each other.
