BUNAMWAYA FC hosts masaka LC in the Uganda Super League with the focus of closing the gap on leaders Express SC, writes Swalley Kenyi.

a win in today’s tie will lift them to second place and bring them to within two points of the Red Eagles who are top with 41 points.

But strikers Caesar Okhuti and Yuda Mugalu, and midfielder Mike Mutyaba are all ruled out for the game against the Masaka side. Bunamwaya assistant coach Richard Wasswa confirmed that Ronald Muganga, Owen Kasule and Ibrahim Juma are expected back after sitting out the team’s last two games.

Bunamwaya beat Masaka 2-1 in the first round in Masaka and Wasswa says his team will search for goals but also remain cautious not to concede because they aim to win.

“Where the league stand now, you cannot afford to relax and drop points. There is nothing like big or small teams so we shall not take chances,” Wasswa said yesterday.

Meanwhile the Express versus Nalubaale match that was due on Saturday has been brought forward to tomorrow as Wankulukuku will not be available on Saturday.

In yesterday’s action, Asad Makibwe scored an all important equalizer from the spot as Maji (21 points) held Police FC to a 1-1 draw at Nakivubo. Nanik Muzamil had put Police in the lead.

The draw moves the cops to 32 points level with SC Villa but behind the fourth placed Jogoos on goal difference.
