SHE was playful and did not perform well at O’level. However, Prossy Nandwalu scored 25 points at the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).

She said her life in school was not the best because she did not have fees.“My parents did not pay fees for third term and we are going right now to school so that they can pay,” Nandwalu said.

“My daughter was bright from primary but we lacked school fees to take her to good schools but thank God she hasn’t disappointed us,” Lawerence Senteza told The New Vision. Nandwalu wants to study International Business when she joins the university.

She has been working with Quality Cuts during her vacation in order to make some money that she will use for school.

“Pressure from my teachers and the matron who used to wake us up in the wee hours of the morning made me pass my examination,” Nandawula said.

She attributes her success to her parents and elder sister Mariam Sentenza who continuously reminded her to read her books.
