Is Isaiah the same as Jesus?

EDITOR—I am confused by Sheik Sulaiman Kakeeto’s assertion that the man everyone knows as Jesus was Isaiah the prophet. Kakeeto, the head of the Tabliq sect claimed this in The New Vision on April 2 on page 25.

I am a devout Catholic and would like to know more about Jesus and Isaiah from my own religious leaders who know more about the Bible. What I know is that Isaiah was a prophet who came much earlier and predicted the coming of Jesus. What is the correct position?
