Kiswa's Okwir picked for NPSSGA

KISWA Primary School teacher Martin Okwir is the new head of the National Primary Schools Sports and Games Association (NPSSGA).

KISWA Primary School teacher Martin Okwir is the new head of the National Primary Schools Sports and Games Association (NPSSGA).

Okwir has been vice chairman (technical) on the outgoing committee. He polled 60 votes to take the top job after a three-man race in Mbale.

His closest opponent Joseph Kagwa from Mukono got 54 votes as Patrick Lukalu from Jinja district trailed with 19 votes.

The elections held every four years during the National Primary Schools Athletics Championship, saw George Palanda from Adjuman picked as vice chairman (technical) while Hoima district inspector of schools Johnson Kusima elected vice chairman (administration).

Aldo Otto from Gulu beat William Bwambale by five votes to take the post of secretary general with Margaret Auma from Kotido district becoming assistant general secretary.

Other members elected are publicity secretary Dominic Otto and treasuer Anno Santina.
