MOSES Ndawula’s second half brace saw Express FC fight from a goal down to edge a resilient Maji FC in the second round of the Kakungulu Cup at Wankulukuku yesterday.

The 2006 Cup winners will now meet Buganda Royal Institute in the quarterfinals.

Finding themselves 1-0 down after Jordan Tamale had put Maji ahead, the Red Eagles fought back through Julius Bakkabulindi’s 34th minute cleverly curled free kick for a 1-1 half time score.
It was after half time that Ndawula struck, first with a header past Jamil Maliyamungu in Maji’s goal.

He then intercepted a clearance from Maji defender Nyanzi Makumbi in the box, to easily slot in to put Express 3-1 up.

Brian Torrah pulled one back for Maji in the dying minutes but the harm had been done as Express advanced.

At Nakivubo, the Ex-Internationals proved that even after retirement, they still have steam. The veterans outwitted the more youthful Masaka Municipal Council with goals from Mathias Kaweesa and James Odoch.

Meanwhile, KCC FC will look to Bruno Olobo and Rogers Aloro for goals when they host Nalubaale in today’s Uganda Super League match at Nakivubo.
The Lugogo side also welcomes back Willy Kavuma and Anthony Bongole from injuries.

Nalubaale goes into the game without a win in the last two matches having lost to Bunamwaya and managing a goalless draw against Iganga at Nakivubo.
Police host Iganga while Boroboro entertain Simba in Masindi.
