This was during the launch of the bulk metering system in Lira last week. The innovation will help the Lira small scale industries reduce their electricity bills by 50% after UMEME installed a new 700Kva transformer in the area.

The three-phase transmission line is expected to improve service delivery,
Kemigyisha explained. The bulking metering innovation is already being used by millers groups in Kisenyi, Bugolobi and Makerere University
