NATIONAL champion Ronald Ssebuguzi and his predecessor Ponsiano Lwakataka shoulder hopes of thousands of local fans expected to throng Lubiri for the KCB Pearl of Africa Uganda rally super special stage on Friday but rule out Zimbabwean Jamie Whyte at your peril.

NATIONAL champion Ronald Ssebuguzi and his predecessor Ponsiano Lwakataka shoulder hopes of thousands of local fans expected to throng Lubiri for the KCB Pearl of Africa Uganda rally super special stage on Friday but rule out Zimbabwean Jamie Whyte at your peril.

Lwakataka who has upgraded to a Subaru N 8 will certainly lock horns with arch rival Ronald Ssebuguzi (Mitsubishi Evo9) right from the first chequered flag at Lubiri. The duel is expected stretch for as long they will stay in the three-day continental race that has 21 crews from Uganda, Kenya Rwanda and Zimbabwe .

Whyte knows only two people in the race—1999 champion Charles Muhangi and Lwakataka.

Scrutineering of cars will be conducted on Friday at Shell Lugogo Bypass station from 7:00am to 11:00am.

After scrutineering cars will head to KCB Bank, Oasis Mall branch for the ceremonial start

The first and second legs will be concentrated in Luwero tomorrow and Sunday.

Competitors will tackle 12 sections in each of the legs in Luwero.

The event is the third round of the Africa Rally Championship.
