PASTOR Matthew Talemwa, who is standing as an independent in the Mukono North byelections, has said he was sent by God to liberate His people from weak leadership.

“I got a vision from God to liberate His people. That is why I joined the race,” he said on Wednesday.

Talemwa started his campaign in Goma sub-county, before moving to Kyampisi.
A disabled person, Talemwa moved alone on a motorcycle, carrying a megaphone, which he used to address roadside rallies.

While Talemwa’s colleagues have printed coloured posters, his are black and white.

He says although he cannot afford coloured posters, he has the potential to represent Mukono North in Parliament.
Talemwa said he will preach the gospel to his colleagues in the House.
