THE Police in Mbarara have arrested 13 people found in possession of marijuana.

THE Police in Mbarara have arrested 13 people found in possession of marijuana.
Most of the suspects were picked up from Kashaka trading centre and Kifufu village in Bubare sub-county during an operation headed by the District Police Commander, Vincent Irama, on Saturday.
Irama identified the suspects as Ivan Muhangi, 27, Abdallat Mbugane, 27, Rogers Kagwisagye, Wilson Twinamatsiko, 18, Hawa Namara and Moses Ninsiima.
Others are Godwin Ainomugisha, Medard Atwijukire, Church Mwesigye, Asuman Matovu, Onesmus Tumuramye, 36, Charles Muhanguzi, 20, and Benon Guma, 67.
During the operation, the Police also uprooted gardens of marijuana which was intercropped with beans and maize.
The gardens belonged to Tumuramye, who is suspected to be the main supplier in the area.
