HUAWEI Technologies Limited, the telecoms solutions provider, last week donated essential supplies worth sh10m to the Sanyu Babies Home in Kampala.

The donation comes two weeks prior to the International Children’s Day.
The supplies, which included food, medicine, clothing and educational material will assist the children with their basic needs.

“Our vision is to enrich people’s lives. We realise that the needs of people are diverse, hence our corporate culture is to promote socio-economic development in all the countries we operate in,” Frank Zhao, the Huawei managing director, said after handing over the donation to Babra Nankya, the Sanyu Babies Home administrator.

“We started this initiative in 2008 and we will continue to support Sanyu Babies Home because the organisation has a challenge to look after such a large number of disadvantaged children with limited resources,” he added.

“We are grateful for this humane gesture from Huawei. The supplies have come in handy and ease some of our challenges,” Nankya said.
