SOROTI-The poor performance of pupils in Teso has been blamed on headteachers’ lack of lesson planning schemes. The district inspector of schools, Peter Okubu, said it is through the schemes that the headteachers can monitor and evaluate the work of their staff members. He also slammed teachers who use outdated textbooks.Okubu was speaking during a meeting of primary headteachers from the district at Pioneer Primary School last week.

Park ranger murdered
KAPCHORWA-Unknown assailants last week hacked to death a Mt. Elgon National Forest Park ranger and took his gun. The incident took place at Kamiro village in Chema sub-county. The Police identified the ranger as Sole Rashid, attached to Kamiro Rangers outpost.
