Teacher Nambooze
The newly elected MP for Mukono North, Betty Nambooze is becoming a darling of the press. Whereas other MPs are referred to as Honourables, Parliament journalists have instead coined another title for her.

They now call mer ‘Madam Teacher’. Last week, several journalists mobbed her at Parliament demanding a comment. At first, she looked hesitant but one of the journalists advised his colleagues to call her “Madam Teacher”. Not to let down her ‘students’ Nambooze seemed to have liked the title and responded to her ‘students’ demands.

Police vs Besigye
Every Ugandan, especially the Police by now knows who FDC president Kizza Besigye is. But on Wednesday, before clashing with the Police at Clock Tower in Kampala, one officer amused people including Besigye when he demanded to know whether he (Besigye) had a problem. “Do you have any problem?” An ant-riot Police officer at the scene asked Besigye. Laughing sarcastically, Besigye answered back: “A problem? Me, having a problem? Hahahaha. I don’t have a problem. You are the problem.” Unfortunately, before the laughter could end, one ‘kiboko man’ had already swung it on him. Oh sorry!

Museveni’s advice
President Museveni knows and will always preach the gospel of responsible radio communication. But most times, his opponents do not know that. He is angry that instead of using the radio to mobilise people to fight poverty, some opposition leaders use it to abuse him. “Radios should not be used to abuse people. Instead of mobilising people, the opposition is always using it to abuse me,” he said. We hope the opposition have heard him.

M7’s greeting
Do you know why President Museveni greeted the newly elected Mukono North MP Betty Nambooze after delivering his state-of-the-nation speech? Ask Nambooze. “His greeting showed that he had accepted defeat. He thought his candidate would win and fought hard to keep me out of Parliament. At the end of the game, I merged the winner,” she bragged. Lucky winner!
