SEVEN soccer fans emerged winners in the on-going Jinja Nile Resort World Cup draws conducted on Vision Voice radio and UBC TV on Friday last week.

SEVEN soccer fans emerged winners in the on-going Jinja Nile Resort World Cup draws conducted on Vision Voice radio and UBC TV on Friday last week.

Winners lauded the excellent accommodation in the cool cottages at the hotel, the hospitality shown by the resort staff and the beautiful scenery around the River Nile.

The winners included Sarah Mirembe, 23, from Mbale; Jason Njeru Kigundu, 25, a lawyer from Kireka; Daniel Abong, 22, a student at Makerere University; and Ashraf Ssesanga, 20, a student at Datamine Technical Business School and resident of Munyonyo in Kampala.

Others included Fiona Kasinde, 20, a second year student of Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi, Isaac Kigozi, 28; a social worker in Mbarara and a Journalist from a TV station in Kampala who preferred anonymity.

The hotel management also took the winners on a tour of Bujagali Falls to admire the River Nile and enjoy a boat ride. There was swimming, hikes around the hill and games like pool at the hotel.

Winners answered questions like naming the coach of the Nigerian national team, World Cup top scorer of all time and the youngest player in the on-going World Cup in South Africa.

They sent their answers through SMS to 6868 and received calls from UBC TV notifying them about their winning a night holiday at Nile Resort.

Two joint World Cup draws are conducted every weekend on Vision Voice radio and UBC TV in partnership with Jinja Nile Resort Hotel where soccer fans answer questions related to the World Cup and send the answers to 8338 on Vision Voice or to 6868 on UBC TV.
