IGANGA - The Police are holding a 32-year-old housewife suspected to have dumped her newly-born baby into a pit-latrine. Mariam Abyogera, a resident of Butende village in Nawaikoke sub-county, reportedly dumped the kid into the pit latrine after failing to receive assistance from her husband. The neighbours became suspicious when the baby disappered for two days. The district Police commander said Abyogera will be charged with murder.

40 struck off payroll
NAMUTUMBA - A total of 40 fake teachers were removed from the payroll for possessing fake academic papers. The district education officer, Henry Stephen Magoma, said the anomalies were unearthed following a verification exercise. He also said one teacher was arrested for getting double salary, but he declined to mention his name.
