FOUR students of Naalya Secondary School (old campus) sustained injuries following a bomb nightmare. The warden, Henry Mangini, yesterday said one of the male students had a nightmare shortly after midnight.

“One of the Senior One students started shouting that there was a bomb in the dormitory and this woke his colleagues who tried to scamper to safety,” Mangini said.

As the students stormed out of the dormitory using all available exits, including windows, four sustained minor injuries.

“We quickly calmed the situation, assembled all students and rushed the injured to hospital. Their parents were also immediately notified,” Mangini said.

He said the students who were taken to Nsambya Hospital were “examined, found to be out of danger, treated, and later discharged.”

They were the head-prefect, Sheriff Wandera, who sustained a bruised head, Lwanga Allan twisted his arm, and Gilbert Tayebwa fractured his ankle. Another student, Anthony Mukiibi, fainted in the scuffle.

“But they are all recovering and we hope to receive them back to school soon,” said the head teacher, Moses Ssenyonjo.

He added that there was no cause for alarm. “It was just a nightmare. We have tight security at the school,” Ssenyonjo said.

By the time The New Vision visited the school, the situation had normalised.
