STEPHEN Mwaka put The Boyz in the northern super mini-league final with the all important goal against Gulu Blackburn yesterday.

The Boyz will tussle out with Gulu University who edged out Arua’s Ediofe Hills 3-2 in the second semi-final of the Northern Region mini-league now going on in Gulu.

The Mwaka strike came after Patrick Loum had levelled Patrick Bongomin early strike for Blackburn in a thrilling semi-final tie at Pece stadium.

Geoffrey Adungu, Nelson Kidega and Felix Opio found the net for the university side who held off the pressure despite Davis Jura and Geoffrey Okujo efforts to bring back Ediofe into the game.

In Malaba, Rock Tigers booked a berth in the eastern region quarter-finals after beating Busembatya 2-0 yesterday and going to nine points.

Today, after trouncing Victoria FC 3-0, Bugembe coach Ibrahim Kirya turns his guns on Bugiri-based Super Star in what is expected to be a thriller.

Both teams know each other well as they play their Division 1 football in Zone 10.

In Kampala, Red Stars edged Mutundwe Lions 1-0 to maintain top position in the Kampala Zone 9 super mini-league. They now have nine points.
