Launching the 27-member taskforce at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, the Chief Justice, Benjamin Odoki, said the move was aimed at removing inconsistencies in sentencing of convicts and ensuring justice.
The severity of the sentence imposed in a particular case depends on the whims of the individual judicial officer before whom the accused person appears, Odoki said.
