Don’t wait for a reason

YOU must have loved the
New Vision redesign. And you must have asked yourself two questions: One, why? And two, why now?

Well, the old design was good! It was selling perfectly, was able to accurately report the arrest of policemen by an MP, brought you Dr Love religiously and sailed the waters of credit crunch without losing any employee. But, above all, it never required Police guard the way Kigundu of EC does. So why was it changed?

That is where you go wrong. Must there be a reason? I know you send presents to your loved ones on New Year’s, Valentines, Easter, birthdays, Christmas etc. Perhaps, you take Beloved out on such special occasions. That is why you are a wonderful lover. And that is why I must commend you.

But if you died today, you would still not be buried at the Kololo of romantic heroes. Do you know why? Like the late Binaisa, your name is still not on the list of heroes. Because my dear, you played by the rules.

It is fine to get comfortable with a reason, to think of a reason to give a present. But, that way, the surprise to Beloved is not that there is a present but what the present is. And a raider who is expected robs little heart or nothing.

Why not send a present ‘for just’? For no reason at all, you crash in with cargo and watch her jaw drop, wondering what the occasion is. Then you gracefully clear your throat and answer; No occasion Sweetheart, relax! I only need one reason to give you my heart. And that reason is YOU, not days, not achievements, not sex.

If you feel like you are good, remember there is always better. And you can be better for no occasion. Don’t wait for your wedding day, birthday, or Sunday. Copy the New Vision; don’t look good because you have been looking bad. Look good because there is better! Don’t give gifts because of opportunity, give when least expected.

Surprise is the code, my friends. In everything you do for love, if you get time to plan anything, think of the surprise element. Do it differently! Choose a day without a romance theme and crash in like a thunderbolt.

That is what the new New Vision has done. I would have liked to thank you for the appreciation, but I will not. I will wait till you learn something from it.
