VILLA coach Sula Kato has been left frustrated after he could spot only three players worthy of donning the Jogoo jersey three days after his club started the search for a new crop of players on Saturday.

Up to 15 football players drawn from the Big and Super Mini League teams are being tested to fill 13 vacant places left by former players.

Kato said that many of the players were not top club material. The club president Fred Muwema had ruled out recruiting players from Super League clubs but it appears the club has since changed the stand because of the response at the trials.

“We are looking for play¬ers to challenge for the title and many of these players (on trial) lack skill and confidence. Many others do not show signs of good discipline,” Kato, who is helped by the club technical chair¬man Tamale Kapera noted yesterday.

Kato hopes to pick only three from the current lot leaving him with over ten vacancies to fill.

Kato said that they would conduct a separate trial for players, who intend to join the club from other super league teams starting next week. At the end of the season, the Jogoos dismissed ten players while others joined professional ranks.

The ten dismissed players were protesting none payment of salary arrears and boycotted club matches.
