HE was the most controversial Big Brother All Stars contestant, getting in fights with just about everyone; then later making up with them. That was Nigeria’s 27-year-old Uti Nwachukwu being friendly. Uti lost his father while on the 91-day M-Net reality show, but he stayed till its end last Sunday, ultimately walking away with the staked jackpot of $200,000. Blitz’s Nigel Nassar had a chat with him.

Congratulations, Uti. How does it feel being a millionaire?
Dude, this is the highest form of euphoria, I can’t even explain.

Did you see it coming?
Well, I knew I was a strong contender, but I didn’t see myself winning, especially since Munya was still in the house, and had survived eviction a record nine times.

You and Sheila had a romance brewing; the dime should make it easier, huh?
Umm, well it should, especially if she still feels the same way about me.

Shouldn’t she be the one worrying about you not feeling the same way, seeing as she made the first move?
Not really. I was also contemplating making the move just about the time she approached me. We are yet to talk about it out of the house.

Your fans in Uganda were with you in prayer upon the loss of your dad…
Oh, that’s touching, man. There’s this chemistry Ugandans and I share. Remember in Season Three how Morris and I were tight? Now Hannington just became buddies with me so easily. I love you, Ugandan people and thanks for being with me on my most trying moment.

Big Brother had allowed you to go for burial, what happened?
Heavy rains flooded Aboh, my village in Delta State, so the burial was postponed to November. I am going to be there with my family. The money is a consolation, but it can never replace my dad. I am only glad I did it for him and I won.

So what next for you?
I will go back to work as a TV presenter, model and actor. The money will only help make things easier. And together with family, we shall decide what else it can do for us.
