REGIONS have hired new tacticians as the teams converge in Kabale for the annual competition today.

Eastern that was the first to fall off the competition last year has replaced U-20 national team coach Frank ‘Video’ Anyau with little-known Bernard Etiang Okoit, who says his team has been in camp for three days.

Northern has Geoffrey Akena in place of Richard Amatre. The Gulu United assistant coach was appointed on Saturday and leads a team of 20 to Kabale today.

In Western, Masindi TC’s Martin Mugabe has been named. The former Ruhinda and Kinyara FC coach replaces Derrick Bunduka who has duty with the Big League.

The inter region, a FUFA championship for talent identification kicks off on Wednesday with defending champions Buganda taking on Eastern.

Jamil Kasirye (Buganda) and former Kinyara tactician Wasswa Bossa (Kampala) are new faces in the competition. Former Cranes international Charles Leti has retained his job at West Nile.

In Eastern, a squad of 29 has been training at Kakindu out of which 22 will be selected to make the team to the four-day event.

Hosts western entered camp yesterday at Rugando Technical School, Mbarara ahead of their kick off against Northern on Thursday.
