UGANDA’S representatives in foreign missions will tomorrow begin a two-day annual retreat at Serena Victoria Resort, off Entebbe Road.

The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, James Mugume, said the meeting would examine the challenges and new issues that should be included in Uganda’s foreign policy.

“The meeting will examine new trends in the geo-political environment, as well as emerging issues. We shall also discuss the security challenges in Somali and Sudan, East African regional integration, the common markets, monetary union and political federation.”

Mugume said there was also need to realign the missions’ strategic plans and budget in line with the recently launched National Development Plan.
