It is for the girls, but this time round even men attended the Girl Power convention. The event that attracted women of different denominations took place at Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral to celebrate the successful completion of the year.

The beautiful and elegant ladies who attended, were dressed in black, which was the dress code for the night. The event also marked the launch of Pastor Jessica Kayanja’s book entitled Through It All, a celebration of the trying moments that she passed through when her husband was accused on sodomy.

A moment of silence was observed for the July 11 bomb victims. The event attracted both political and religiouos leaders. In attendance was Archbishop John Ssentamu, the bishop of York , Members of Parliament plus a number of gospel artistes like Julie Mutesasira, Enock Kinslev, Judith Babirye and Silver Kyagulanyi.

The Kayanjas seized the opportuniy to showcase their ‘ball room dancing skills. This sent a lot of cheers and caused alot of excitement among the ladies. Isaiah Katumwa joined by his wife also shared the platform proving to us that the saxophone is not all he is good at.

Every year, an award is given based on the theme of the convention. This year Fatumah and Muhammed Sewagaba, both acid burn survivors scooped the Through It All Award. They were favourites because of the endurance and ability to combat stigma of acid burns as a couple.
