Jay Samuel Pwemlow, 17, who works with Child Care International based in Kitgum, confidently walked into Stanhope, a city forex bureau, to cash two Thomas Cook travellers cheques, each worth 500 British Pound Sterling.
Little did he know that an international alert had been sent out by the cheque issuers. The original cheques, each worth 20 pounds were altered to 500 pounds each.
