NRM Should Maintain Its Clean Record

SIR—It is good that Eng. Pascal Gakyaro has been produced in court accompanied by none other than the police boss himself, Maj Gen Katumba wamala. The government should not play into the hands of digruntled opposition politicians. Whatever the crime, there is no reason why a person should be held incommunicado today. The NRM has a track record which must jealously be maintained to serve as a stark contrast to former murderous regimes. It wasn’t necessary for Justice Bamwine to invoke a habeaus corpus. These are the practices we need to watch lest we slip!
