THE First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, Eriya Kategaya, has said Ugandans should adopt the culture of saving like that of Indians to become investors, reports Catherine Ntabadde.
Kategaya was the chief guest during an Odissi dance programme by renown Indian dancer Sonal Mansingh on Monday.
He said the reason many Indians were investors was that they saved.
“If you don’t save, you don’t invest,†he said. Kategaya said it was good for Indians to show some of their culture in Uganda.
“We can appreciate their cultures through such concerts,†he said.
The acting Indian High Commissioner to Uganda, Gulzar Singh, said India’s relations with Uganda had always been excellent and would be strengthened further. He said Mansingh had performed since 1964.
