Auctioneers cause fracas
KABALE — There was pandemonium at the municipal council offices when Intercede Dynamic Associates court brokers attached the council property over debts. The Mbarara-based brokers stormed the town clerk’s offices on Wednesday afternoon as they tried to take away about 10 computers.

Child thief jailed 1 year
BUSHENYI — The Grade One court recently sentenced Laban Kakoba to two years in prison for stealing a-one-and-half year old child. Prosecution led by Eunice Mbaine proved to court that Kakoba grabbed the child on her way to the well and locked her inside his house. The residents of Rweibirizi, Bugongi sub- county rescued the kid.

Drugs lead to crime
BUSHENYI — The district Police commander, Makmot Okello, has said 60% of the crime in Kabwohe town in Bushenyi district is related to marijuana smoking. Okello on Friday said most of the criminals had fled to Kabwohe after the operation against them in Bushenyi and Ishaka towns.

No apology for Majara
MASINDI — The Regional IGG, Robert Mugambwa, recently refuted claims by the district boss, John Majara, that his office had apologised for defaming him. Majara had been accused of swindling money meant for a trip to Spain.
