A man scared his wife and children when he yelled like a bereaved person from inside a pit latrine.

He was set to leave the country for United Kingdom aboard a Kenya Airways flight on Thursday. After chasing for his travel documents on Wednesday, he retired home in Namasuba at 6:00pm.

On reaching home, he rushed straight to the toilet. While there, his passport book and return air ticket slipped from his back pocket and fell into the latrine hole.

Upon realising what had happened, the man started crying like a baby in his big voice, which attracted the attention of his wife and children, who rushed to his rescue. But his wife found the latrine door locked with Kikungwe crying from inside.

“Mmama nze... Nfude... Wowe... Ngenda kukolaki (Mama mia. I am as good as dead. What am I going to do?” he wailed.

“Open up and we help will you. What is the problem?” his wife asked.

The confused Hajji did not reply, but kept crying. The shamba boy, with the help of his wife, kicked open the door and found the man squatting helplessly, staring at the roof of the toilet.

His wife sent away the shamba boy and the kids. She helped her husband dress and led him into the house, comforting him that he would get replacements for the documents.
