Namasole Faces Prison Over Sh4.8m Debt

A Namasole (Queen Mother), of Buganda Manjeri Lunkuse will go to civil prison, unless she refunds over sh4.8m before June 20.

A Namasole (Queen Mother), of Buganda Manjeri Lunkuse will go to civil prison, unless she refunds over sh4.8m before June 20.
Lunkuse, a resident of Mpererwe near Kampala, allegedly obtained the money through fraudulently selling land.
Nakawa Court Grade One Magistrate, Agnes Nkonge, on Wednesday issued a warrant to a court bailiff to produce Lunkuse in court. Samuel and Syson Kasirye, sued Lunkuse seeking a recovery of sh2m, they paid Lunkuse when she reportedly sold them disputed land. They also sought interest and costs of the suit, bringing the total figure to 4,833,500
They said on October 14, 1997, Lunkuse sold to them a 0.25 acre plot at sh2m.
They, however, said some other persons later emerged claiming ownership of the same land.Ends
