RDC to arrest
Clement Kandole, Kamuli’s resident district commissioner, has threatened to arrest anyone found cultivating on lake shores and river banks. He was concerned about the massive destruction of Lake Kyoga in the district and blamed the local population for their poor farming methods. Kandole said the action of arresting people was in line with the water, lands and environment minister’s directive, as farming activities were destroying the waters. Kandole made the remarks at the launching of a tree-planting project.
