PEDRO Pasculli was delighted by US-based professional Sulaiman Tenywa in Uganda Cranes’ training yesterday afternoon.

The Dallas Burn defender arrived in the country Wednesday night and joined team-mates in camp.

“He has very a good build and his height is perfect for a central central defender,” the Argentine said.

Tenywa, who was introduced to Pasculli by assistant coach Leo Adraa, travelled to Kigali and made a solid central defence partnership with Robert Tumusime.

But it was not all good news as striker Fred Okello was ruled virtually out with a foot injury.

The absence of the much maligned forward leaves Pasculli with fewer options in attack.

Hassan Mubiru and Ekuchu Kasongo have looked the impressive forwards in training but Okello’s injury means Alex Isabirye could be the only potent striker on the bench.

The Cranes players were also presented with a set of new boots to be used for tomorrow’s match.

Uganda’s opponents, Rwanda are scheduled to arrive today afternoon.

The Amavubi Stars are coached by a Yugoslav Rutomir Duksovic and will be led by Belgian-based professional Desire Mbonabucya.

While Rwanda’s qualification chances hinge on a recovery of epic proportions, Cranes must defeat the Amavubi Stars to stay in contention ahead of their clash with Ghana.
