MOSES Kipsiro spurred by a mammoth home crowd, braved severe high altitude conditions to win the 5000 meters at a trial in Kapchorwa on Saturday.
The World Cross-country bronze medallist showed that he is also good on track by clocking 14 minutes, 02 seconds in the 12.5 lap race at Sebei College Tegeres.
It was the second trial testing athletes who for a fortnight have seriously been training at the high altitude camp sponsored by businessman Michael Ezra.
At another trial in Kyambogo, Arua’s Eric Malinga made a winning comeback to the track with victory in the 5000m, clocking 14.36.5.
Martin Toroitich and Amos Masai followed in second and third position respectively.
Former world youth champion Catherine Webombesa also returned with a bang winning the 5000m.
Justine Bayigga was again unchallenged in the women’s 200m. Ends
