KAMPALA — President Yoweri Museveni on Monday held a meeting with the European and American ambassadors. During the meeting that took place at State House, Nakasero, they delved into issues pertaining to bilateral relations between Uganda and their countries as well as regional matters. International relations state minister Tom Butime attended.

No more guinea worm
kitgum — The guinea worm menace has been totally eradicated from the area, the district health inspector, John Omoo, recently said. He said the cases of guinea worm that were registered in the district were those from southern Sudan who crossed the border to seek better medical attention.

Garuga sues government
KAMPALA — Reform Agenda stalwart James Garuga Musinguzi on friday filed a suit against the state for vandalising his Pajero. The vehicle was allegedly used by the Presidential Press Unit. Court gave the Attorney General 15 days to file a defence against the suit in which Musinguzi is seeking recovery of sh25m, the value of his public address system and sh10m, which was in the vehicle.

Pest blamed on Uganda
nairobi — Officials from the Kenya Forest Research Institute (KEFRI) on Monday said an exotic pest that is threatening to wipe out eucalyptus trees in western Kenya got to their country through eastern Uganda. They recently said this was because the symptoms were first spotted in Uganda between January and February last year.
