THE Kjaer group and its associated companies yesterday handed over $6000 (sh12m) worth of sponsorship to SC Villa’s Europe-bound U-16 youth squad.
The youngsters are scheduled to compete in the Limfjords Cup tournament and the Football Festival Denmark against youth teams from Cameroon, Ghana and the host nation this month.
According to tour organiser, Ken Davies, the team’s pursuit for corporate sponsorship has so far yielded $20,000 from different companies.
“The sponsors have really responded positively. We’ll repay their faith and contribution to our cause by returning triumphant from Europe.”
He revealed that during the tournament, Villa’s youngsters would get a chance to train with Premiership club Manchester City.
“Meeting their football icons like Nicolas Anelka and Robbie Fowler would make their stay in Denmark memorable.”
The festival will climax July 25 with an exhibition match between Manchester City and Holland’s Feyernood, last year’s UEFA Cup winners. The team is expected back on July 28.
