GODFREY Nyakana, who recently announced his return to professional boxing, has set his eyes on the commonwealth middleweight belt currently held by British Howard Eastman.

Nyakana, starts his journey to the belt with a comeback fight against South African Diedon Katto at Nakivubo next weekend.

“I believe Katto with his record of 11-3-4(7Kos) will give me a good fight. I will use this fight as a spring board to go for the Commonwealth title,” said Nyakana.

One of Uganda’s most intelligent, pound-for-pound fighter added: “I have seen Eastman fight. He is good but not too good to make someone like me run away.”

The veteran, who is also an LCV counsellor for Kampala Central, assured his fans that he was better at 32 years than when he was at 25.

“Those who think that I can’t fight like I used to are at crossroads. I’m wiser and more patient in the ring, than I was five years ago.”
