ALFA Rally Team has entered three crews in the Mountain Gorilla Rwanda rally due August 1-3 in Kigali.
Team leader Riyaz Kurji (Mitsubishi Evo7) and his veteran teammates Bob Roberts (Toyota Celica ST185) and Dolly Mubarak (Nissan Pulsar) registered for the fourth round of the Africa Rally Championship last week.
“We are now fine-tuning the cars. We have been offered free accommodation and transportation of our cars.
The Celica and Pulsar have new engines, it is a good chance for us to collect those points and possibly have good starting positions here,†a team official who requested for anonymity told The New Vision yesterday.
Meanwhile, Ken Luusa will make a first outing in a newly acquired Subaru Impreza group A in the Silk Royale Night Sprint at Entebbe Botanical Garden on Saturday.
Luusa, who had an impressive first half of the 2002 season, has been out since September when his Mitsubishi Evo3 burnt to ashes during a test drive in the run up to the TOTAL Pearl of Africa Uganda rally.
