HASSAN Mubiru scored a goal of stupendous quality, worth a place in the archives of legendary strikes, in Express’ 4-1 demolition of Iganga.
Picking the ball from a centre of the field ten minutes from time, Mubiru charged past six bewildered Iganga players, beating one after another with sumptuous ease while keeping his balance in the face of tackles, before unleashing a well drilled shot that settled in the bottom left corner of the net.
It was a marvellous goal that deserves to be framed and hang in the living rooms of all Red Eagles fans.
Goals by Andrew Mukasa, in his typical predatory style, Peter Rwebuga and Mubiru just before his wondrous moment, had erased Abdallah Matovu’s 5th minute shocker. Express stays in second position, four points adrift of SC Villa.
Although the result was satisfactory for the hosts, football lovers who travelled to Wankulukuku will savour a strike comparable with any great goal anywhere.
