MAKERERE University will today host the Bell Lager Uganda Cup championships. Six teams will be in action.
Hosts Impis II will test Jinja-based Nile RFC while the Rams will take on the Sammercampers at Makerere University main grounds.
Entebbe Mongers will host the third game of the day as they take on embattled Kampala International University that failed to raise a team last year and eventually pulled out of the local championships.
Nineteen clubs will take part in the event that will have the defending champions MTN Heathens start their campaign for honours at the quarter stage.
Mango Kobs, Black Pirates and Hima Impis will be in action next weekend.
Meanwhile, over 16 secondary schools are expected to assemble for the annual British High Commissioner’s Plate at Kyadondo ground today.
Champions Kyambogo College could face an uphill task against Namilyango College.
Namilyango dethroned Kyambogo College to lift the schools league trophy last April.
New entrants Butiki College and Lango College could be baptised with fire by aggressive sides like St Lawrence, Makerere College and Viena College in the event organised by Kyadondo Rugby Football Club and the British High Commission.
