Museveni a good road user!

SIR— On July 16, at 7.30pm, I had gone to a take-away restaurant in Kabalagala in southern Kampala to buy supper since I left office very late and could not go back home to prepare it in time.

As I walked down the Ggaba stage, a police patrol vehicle went past me with the siren on. I saw armed security guards running along the road. The traffic was heavy.

But it was interesting to see the President’s convoy moving to Munyonyo for dinner with the visiting Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki. The President himself was in his limousine with his wife Janet, waving to the people.

What I saw was the highest
discipline of Museveni’s
bodyguards who guided motorists to make way for the President. There was no harassing of people.

I would like to give the President credit for showing respect and behaving in a manner which is not harmful to other road users. He is the highest person in the country, yet he has shown that you do not have to drive recklessly.
