FORT-PORTAL — Anti-riot Police on Monday quelled a riot by workers at the TAMTECO Tea Company in Kijura estates. The workers were protesting what they called low pay.

Bakiga agree
KAMPALA — The Bakiga in diaspora have resolved to promote their social and economic welfare worlwide. Health minister Brig. Jim Muwhezi said this was agreed at a recent Bakiga meeting in Toronto, Canada.

Pupils wary
KASESE — Over 20,000 pupils in Kyabarungira sub-county are threatened with cholera outbreak. “One pit-latrine is being used by over 120 pupils, contrary to the ministry’s 25 pupils for one pit-latrine policy,” a report said recently.
