The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA-Uganda) has built 100 primary schools under DANIDA funding to promote education in the country.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA-Uganda) has built 100 primary schools under DANIDA funding to promote education in the country.
Esther Wani, acting director of programmes for ADRA-Uganda, revealed this while receiving a 14-man delegation at ADRA-Uganda headquarters in Kireka on Friday. The delegation was on a tour of ADRA-Uganda projects.
ADRA has been using education to empower the communities since the start of the nine-year education project in 1993.
The project will cost US$12m.
Wani said the first phase comprised 30 schools built at US$3.6m, the second phase 20 schools at a cost of US$4.2m and the last phase at US$4.3m.
ADRA country director, Niels Christian Rasmussen, said other projects include Bunya Integrated Health Project in Mayuge district. The project addresses malaria control, HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
