UGANDA Sports Press Association (USPA) members converge at National Theatre’s Malayika Gardens at 10.00am today to discuss a proposed blackout on FUFA-organised events.

The press asked the soccer governing body FUFA to set up a neutral probe into match-fixing allegations that have hit local football by Thursday or face a blackout.

FUFA have ignored the plea thus today’s meeting, that will review the step forward.

National Council of Sports, like USPA, is also advocating for a neutral body to look into the mess.

“In all fairness to the federation and all concerned parties, it is proper that an independent body without the federation, be appointed to carry out in depth investigations,”

NCS said in a letter signed by acting general secretary John Odyek.

“National Council of Sports therefore urges the federation to pass the matter to Council to appoint an independent body as soon as possible to sort out the mess,” read the letter.
