BUNDIBUGYO district has imposed a livestock quarantine in Ntoroko county, following an outbreak of Contagious Bovine Pleuro-Pneumonia.

The dead and infected were among the 80,000 head of cattle owned by refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

A refugee from the DRC, Mbito Sylvano, in Nyabusokoma parish, Karugutu sub-county, has lost 13 head of cattle since May.

The quarantine prohibited the movement of livestock, their products and by-products from, to and within Ntoroko county.
