West Nile youth to guard Karuma Road workers

THE first deputy Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Moses Ali, has said youth from West Nile will be recruited in the army to provide security during the construction of the Karuma-Pakwach road

THE first deputy Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Moses Ali, has said youth from West Nile will be recruited in the army to provide security during the construction of the Karuma-Pakwach road.

“We are ready to provide security to the constructors of the Karuma-Pakwach road,” he said.

Ali said this during the commissioning of the newly upgraded Arua-Nebbi road on Monday.

Ali said there was need for the Government to tarmack Arua airstrip. He hailed the World Bank for funding the road construction, he said the road would boost trade.

The Minister of Works, Transport and Telecommunication, Eng. John Nasasira, said the construction of Karuma-Olwiyo and Olwiyo-Pakwach roads would start in the last quarter of 2004
