The 8th All Africa Games officially open today here despite the confusion that has rocked the event.
Preparations are still going on ahead of the opening ceremony.
The Uganda athletics and boxing teams are already here and they will be joined by the baseball, softball and weightlifting — who were cleared by the National Council of Sports (NCS) on the eve of the trip.
Despite boxing being one of the events to start early, confusion still marred the organising committee as referees and judges were yet to jet in.
At the last games in Johannesburg in 1999, Uganda managed two gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
