Singer Jose Chameleon, who scooped the best artist of the year award at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM) at Speke Resort, Munyonyo last Saturday will spend his sh5m bounty on a plush residential double-storeyed flat he is constructing atop Seguku hill.

Snoops reliably inform us that the lavish mansion estimated to have already consumed about sh60m and expected to take up anything above the sh90m figure, will house a state-of-the-art recording studio in the basement, contain two garages and will be surrounded by an extensive perimeter wall.

Chameleon recently gave one of his convertibles, on which he inscribed the word “Dorotia,” to his mom.

The singer charges sh2m for shows in Kampala and anything between sh3-4m for upcountry shows. Scouts say he charges anything between $5,000 and $6,000 for shows in Tanzania and Kenya, where his biggest fan base is. And it does not pay to sing in Uganda, you think?
