SIR— In The New Vision of October 14, Dr E. Mukisa, the Wakiso district director of health services, was reported to have instructed headteachers in the district not to accept in school children who did not possess measles vaccination cards.

If this was correct reporting, I want to advise my colleague that he should handle the matter softly because in taking a hardline approach one may be abrogating human rights. Perceived measles threat from uninfected schoolmates is not the same thing as the threat from actually infected mates.
