The UPDF court martial recently freed Sgt. Saidi Mugume who has been on remand for desertion.
The defence lawyer said his client was arrested wrongly.
Prosecution said they were no longer interested in the case.
The court, chaired by Lt. Gen. Elly Tumwine ordered the State to reinstate Mugume to his battalion.
